Located one kilometer from the upper reaches of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, The Doupotang Waterfall houses a 105-meter-wide and 21-meter-high waterfall. The top of the waterfall is the widest among all of the Huangguoshu waterfalls. At the top of Doupotang Waterfall is a 15,000-square-meter and the waterfall is formed on the calcified bay that is over 100 meters long.

There is another special phenomenon in the scenic spot, that is, the waterfall will produce a rumbling noise every year before the flood comes, hence the name “roaring waterfall”.

In any case, this particular falls wasn't tall, but it was very wide. Aside from some of the manmade objects left in front of the falls and power lines both above and behind the falls, it was actually a very quiet and relaxing place to enjoy. This contrasted mightily with the Huangguoshu experience.

The entrance gate to the falls featured peacocks near the entrance as well as ducks in the river just downstream from the falls.
