9.18 Historical Museum is the only one large-scale memorial history museum which fully reflects the history of “9.18” incident. The basic display: “9.18” history exhibition follows the “9.18” incident and the northeastern people’s anti-Japan fights. 9.18 Historical Museum comprehensively applies the high-tech display method of light and sound with historical relics, history photograph and historical literature data. 9.18 Historical Museum truly reproduced a historic roll of the Japanese militarism aggression suffered by northeast people and the resistance and final triumph of northeast people, which were after the “9.18” incident triggered by Japanese militarism in 1931.

There are more than 4,000 pieces of collections, which are mainly cultural relic of modern times, especially the objects and data concerning “9.18” incident, for example: weapons and household items used by northeast anti-Japan military and civilian, weapons and military products used by invading Japanese troops, objects and data of Japanese militarism armed aggression, immigrant aggression and economic aggression, etc, which all has high value of historical data, research value and collection value.

After being reorganized and expended, the 9.18 Historical Museum set an alarm bell in front of the Canli (ruined calendar) Stele in 1999. Since then, every night on September 18th, there will be a bell-strike and siren scream ceremony held to warn citizens not to forget the national humiliation. Since 2006, fourteen cities in Liaoning province would start the air defense warning synchronously on the memorial day of “9.18” incident to remember that period of history.
